"Q. 2.
Are we then dead to the law?
"A.
We are `dead to the law, by the body of Christ' given for
us; (Rom.7:4;) to the Adamic as well as Mosaic law.
We are wholly freed therefrom by his death; that law expiring
with him.
"Q. 3.
How, then, are we `not without law to God, but under the law
to Christ?' (1 Cor.9:21.)
"A.
We are without that law; but it does not follow that we are
without any law: For God has established another law in its
place, even the law of faith:
And we are all under this law to God and to Christ; both our
Creator and our Redeemer require us to observe it.
"Q. 4.
Is love the fulfilling of this law?
"A.
Unquestionably it is.
The whole law under which we now are, is fulfilled by love.
(Rom.13:9, 10.)
Faith working or animated by love is all that God now
requires of man.
He has substituted (not sincerity, but) love, in the room of
angelic perfection.
"Q. 5.
How is `love the end of the commandment?' (1 Tim.1:5.)
"A.
It is the end of every commandment of God.
It is the point aimed at by the whole and every part of the
Christian institution.
The foundation is faith, purifying the heart; the end love,
preserving a good conscience.

それでは、私たちはその律法に死んだものなのであろうか？
回。
私たちは、私たちのために与えられた「キリストの体によっ
て、モーセの律法と同様にアダムの律法にも死んだ」のであ
る。(ﾛｰﾏ7:4)
彼の死によって、私たちは完全に自由である。律法は彼と共
に廃棄されたのである。

それでは、「神に対する律法ではなく、キリストの律法の下にあ
る。」とはどういうことか？(ｺﾘﾝﾄⅠ 9：21)
回。
私たちはその律法の下にいるのではないが、いかなる律法も
ないのではない。なぜなら神はそこに信仰の律法という他の
律法を確立されたからである。
そして私たちすべては神とキリスト、私たちの創造者と贖罪
者、双方に対するこの律法の下にあり、それを守ることを求
められている。
質。4
愛はこの律法を満たしているか？
回。
疑いも無くそうである。
私たちが現在その下にいる全ての律法は、愛によって全うさ
れる。(ﾛｰﾏ 13:9、10)
愛によって働きいのちを吹き込まれた信仰こそ、現在神が人
に要求されるすべてである。
天使の完全が占めるべきところさえ、神は（誠実ではなく）愛
をもって代えられた。
質。５
「愛は戒めを全うする」(ﾃﾓﾃⅠ 1:5)のか？
回。
愛は神の全ての戒めを全うするのである。
それはキリスト者の制度の全体およびすべての部分の狙い
とする点なのである。
心の清め、究極の愛、正しい良心を保つことの基礎は信仰
である。
